Aufrax Special QAF coatings and adhesives:
● QAF 180 (regular/skin)
● QAF 180 (DPF bonding)
● QAF 180F (Fiber Bonding)
Aufrax® QAF (Quality Aufrax) products contain a combination of special engineering ceramic fibers, inorganic fillers, and inorganic binders, so that the product has a high-temperature adhesive effect, or allows the product to form an air-hardening refractory coating. The QAF coating dries and hardens to form a hard surface that is resistant to corrosion and flame attack. Its efficient thermal insulation properties and good thermal shock resistance help prevent spalling of the ceramic matrix. The coating exhibits excellent tack resistance to many non-ferrous molten metals and can therefore be used as a protective coating for a wide variety of porous and non-porous insulating materials. QAF coatings have superior heat reflection properties, further broadening their application range. When used at high temperatures above 870°C, the QAF coating is further increased due to high temperature ceramization of the bond.
Typical applications including:
• Used in the combination of adhesives and skins for honeycomb ceramic components, see DPF coatings for details
• Used on other thermal insulation surfaces to enhance wind speed and high temperature resistance, etc.
• Mold lining adhesive for ceramic fiber paper used with high purity metals and glass
• Protective coatings for molten aluminum (or other non-ferrous metals) conveyor systems and related components
• Antioxidant coating for molten aluminum sampling tubes, thermocouple tubes and electroplating baths
• Electrically insulating coating for core lining of induction furnaces
• Infrared radiating surface used as heating element
• Used as an inner coating for automobile exhaust pipes
Characteristic:
• The finished QAF coating is slightly alkaline and insoluble in water. The product has good chemical stability and can resist most corrosive agents except hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and concentrated alkali. The product contains a small amount of antifreeze for easy winter transport.
